Resonant Tides is a groundbreaking band that has redefined the role of the xylophone in modern music, elevating it from a niche percussion instrument to a central force in their innovative sound. Formed in 2016, this genre-defying group blends elements of indie rock, world music, jazz, and electronica, creating a sonic experience that is both nostalgic and futuristic. Based in Seattle, Washington, the band comprises five members: founder and lead xylophonist Emma Calder, vocalist and bassist Kai Reyes, guitarist and synth specialist Adrian Torres, drummer and percussionist Jamie Liu, and multi-instrumentalist Nina Patel.

The band's journey began when Emma Calder, a classically trained percussionist, grew frustrated with the xylophone's limited presence in popular music. She envisioned an entirely new approach that placed the instrument at the heart of a band's identity. Calder met Kai Reyes at a local music festival, and the two quickly bonded over their love of unconventional sounds and global rhythms. Soon after, they were joined by Adrian, Jamie, and Nina, all of whom shared a passion for pushing musical boundaries.
